Maximum Apocalypse: Gothic Horrors 2E

My group usually hates co-op games, but the cultist summoning mechanic actually forces everyone to work together without quarterbacking. Setup took a bit longer than I expected, but once we got going the vampire and monster variety kept every round tense.

The night cycle actually made me dread taking my turn, which is exactly what I wanted from a horror expansion. The vampire drain ability creates this slow, tense resource loss that had our whole table arguing over who ventures out after dark.

The cultist summoning mechanic is brilliantly tense—you’re constantly deciding which threat to deal with first before it spirals out of control. The vampire drain rule adds a nasty resource pressure that I didn’t expect.
